A night at the Domain

Hi!

I received several emails over the past week to say that the discount code for the upcoming Surf Trip was not working. We solved the issue and it should work now. If any further complications occur then please let me know. I hope many of you will go on this trip as it's a fantastic experience. Learning to surf in Australia is a great opportunity and should be a must on your 'to do list'.

Don't forget that we will meet this week on Wednesday 18th January at the Dolphin Hotel at 7pm. For all of our new interns, the intern meeting is held every month to give you an opportunity to meet new people, make friends and exchange experiences. I hope to see many of you on our Intern Meetings.

Last Friday I went to the beach to do a sailing trip with some of my friends. We left Sydney Harbour and went out into the blue. It was really nice to get out onto the habour after spending so many days and weekends walking around it and taking in views. On the water it there was a nice chilly breeze but I couldn't get out of my mind the idea of coming across a shark...even though I was on a boat. Maybe I've watched too many shark attack movies.
Afterwards we had a little BBQ and relaxed at Tamarrama Beach.

(This is not us, I just like the picture. I forgot to take the camera with me.)

Saturday morning the weather was nice so I went to Nelson Park and Vaucluse House to meet friends for a late breakfast picnic. Vaucluse House is a nice peaceful area and ideal for sitting in the shade of a tree with friends or on your own and reading a book. I walked around the gardens of the house before I went back home.

At night we planned to go to The Domain to see the free concert which is part of the Sydney Festival. It was raining slightly as we left the house but I thought it would pass by quickly. After the opening act played three songs it began to rain and everyone tried to hide under their umbrellas or to find a tree to stand under. Eventually after half of the concert The Domain emptied and only a few true fans stayed till the end, so I was told. Aside from the rain, the atmosphere was great and I enjoyed listening.

The bad weather continued so I decided to start working on my term papers for university. There wasn't much else to do. At noon I decided to go to the mall to watch a movie and stroll around. Not such a good idea as it was quite packed.

Let's hope next weekend will be better and we'll have a great day at the intern trip to Canberra. Make sure you sign up soon through Colourful Trips website and quote the promo code of sydintern15.

Until then...
