Wet weekend!

I never thought that it could rain in Sydney as it did last weekend. It was my first experience with Sydney rainy weather and I hated it but even though the weather was bad there were a lot of things to do.

It all started on Friday with a perfect sunny day, you wouldn't have believed that there was any rain coming. I met up with a friend at Bondi Beach to enjoy the summer breeze. There was almost no wind which was not good for all those surfers but fantastic for us. It looked almost like summer was here as you could barely find a good place to sit on the sand because of the huge crowds. The water is still very cold so we didn't dare get in but instead had a splash with our feet.
In the evening the storm started and we were lucky to get home earlier than the crowds of people who left the beach in a hurry.

The next day I had to cancel the picnic we organised because of the poor weather. Instead, we met up in Bondi Junction and went to Max Brenner chocolate restaurant. We all enjoyed our delicious chocolate fondues, pizzas and waffles...Yum! I was glad to get to know some new interns. I hope all of you will join our next intern meeting as well. I will organise the picnic for another day and I hope the weather is going to improve soon.

Sunday was the worst weather ever. I thought I was in a monsoon. We already knew that the weather was not going to be good that day but it was worse then I could have imagined. Thankfully I planned to go to the Australian Museum that day with a friend. It is very interesting to see Australia's biological and geological diversity. This museum isn't boring at all. There are also some living animals to see and an interactive section.

We also planned to go to the Fish Markets after visiting the museum but this was physically not possible because of the rain. Instead a friend visited the markets with her car and picked up the fish. We made a magnificent sushi platter at a Japanese friend's place and enjoyed the Asian flavours in a nice dry flat.

I hope the weather is going to improve over the next few days and we can enjoy the trip to Jervis Bay on Sunday with Colourful Trips.
I'll post further details about the trip on Wednesday.

Until then...
